STOCK VILLAGE HALL
The current Stock Village Hall is situated on a two-acre site on the corner of Stock Road and Common Road, in the heart of the village. In the opinion of many - and not just Stock locals - Stock Village Hall is the most attractive and best-equipped hall of its kind within striking distance. It is a facility created for the local community by and through the efforts of the local community and it continues to be a well - used venue for local clubs while drawing in support from a wide area.
Local fund-raising and a grant from the Millennium Fund on the back of a generous donation from a Stock benefactor of the current site enabled the hall to be opened in 2001. This year therefore marks 25 years since the new hall was first used. It replaced the second hall, in Mill Road, which had itself been built on the site of the original Village Hall.
The hall is owned by a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity Registration Number 1209354) controlled by local trustees and its two halls are (separately) available to hire by local clubs or, mainly at weekends, for other organisations or individuals for exhibitions, festivals, and private parties. Details of the hiring arrangement's are given in the Hall Bookings tab.
